The warm months are with us! And that means it's time for nature outings with friends. What do you do if you get hungry while outdoors? We have a recipe for salty picnic sausage tartelettes from Berger’s for you!
Preparation:
Sieve the flour and then work the egg yolk, chopped butter, cream and salt into the flour until a smooth dough is formed. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap/cling film and place in the freezer for 15 minutes. Dice the sausages and mozzarella, cut the cherry tomatoes into quarters. Mix the cream with the egg white, season with salt, pepper and garlic. Use butter, margarine or vegetable fat to lightly grease the tartelettes tins, then line the tins with a thin layer of dough.
Bake for 10 minutes at 200 degrees. Then remove the tins and fill them with sausage, tomatoes and mozzarella. Pour the cream and egg white over the whole thing, then place back in the oven for 15 min.
The tartelettes can be served hot or cold, with a delicate garlic sauce and fresh basil.
